This follows from a survey by the anti-virus company Kaspersky Lab. 50% of respondents come for entertainment and a tenth are looking only for sex. 57% of respondents admit to lying or being dishonest when online dating to make themselves look better and increase their chances of success. 11% of respondents found out that their partner had lied to them about their current relationship. One in ten have met a scammer on dating apps who tried to extract sensitive personal information from them. Spam, malware and viruses that can damage your device are also a common negative experience.
